Joining in September 2025
Applications to join the school at the start of Year 7 are made to Suffolk County Council. They have full information, contact details and an online application service at www.suffolk.gov.uk/admissionstoschools.
For the current admissions round, we are adhering to the Felixstowe School policy.
Tours of the school and a meeting with a member of the senior leadership team can be arranged at any time by contacting the school or emailing dbrown@fxs.org.uk.
Joining the Sixth Form
Please return all application forms to student services, main school reception or the Sixth Form office.
We offer individual programmes of study, the choice of which will be largely based on your GCSE results. We do have entry requirements for all courses.
- Advanced Programme (Level 3) – a two-year programme predominantly based on A level courses. A number of BTEC qualifications and other courses are also available. This is for students who achieve at least 5 GCSE passes at grade C or above including English and Maths, with grade B in the subjects they wish to study at Level 3.
- Vocational Programme – a two-year programme predominantly based on BTEC/CTEC courses. This is for students who achieve at least 5 GCSE passes at C or above or BTEC passes.

How to Apply
Normal Year of Entry
Felixstowe School is a Secondary School with a Published Admission Number (PAN) of 280. Suffolk County Council co-ordinates all Normal Year of Entry Admissions into Year 7 and communicates all admission decisions to parents/carers.

If your child is in their last year at a primary school, you must apply for a place in Year 7 at a secondary school place for September 2025 by the closing date of Thursday 31 October 2024.

The advantages of applying online are that you:
- will receive confirmation of your application by email
- can check or change your application right up to the closing date
- can view the outcome of your application online on the offer day
- will receive an email with details of your school offer on the offer day
If you prefer to complete a paper application this can be downloaded from the link below. The completed CAF1 form can be emailed to admissions@suffolk.gov.uk or posted to the address on the form – it is advised to get proof of postage.
Your application form must be received on or before 31 October.
National Offer Day is 1 March or the next working day for a Secondary School application.

Appeals
All applicants refused a place have a right of appeal to an independent appeal panel constituted and operated in accordance with the School Admission Appeals Code. Appellants should contact the Education Appeals Office on 01473 264218 or 264219.
