Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to Felixstowe School, and thank you for entrusting us with the care of your child, hopefully for the next seven years. I hope that your child will be happy here, and that they will enjoy the experience of learning with us in all kinds of ways.
The transition from Primary School to Secondary School is an important milestone for your child. We have modified the transition process to align with other secondary schools in the local area, and we hope that Year 6 students continue be excited at beginning their journey to Felixstowe School.
After national offer day, we will write to each family with some key information, and as part of this, we ask each family to work to create a student passport which is passed to your child’s new form tutor. Additional copies of these can be downloaded from the links on this page. Please return these as soon as possible to the school, either in paper form, or via email to office@fxs.org.uk
Our senior leadership team meets with each family on an individual basis in order to discuss your child’s transition to secondary school, and so that you can have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have about the move to secondary school. We value the opportunity to speak with you personally, and hope that you will find this useful.
Our school is at an exciting time in its history; our school is a happy and busy school, where students are well supported to succeed and be prepared to be excellent future citizens. Students at our school have lots of opportunities to get involved in the life of the school. Our staff run lots of enrichment clubs after school, and they are very popular, with a large number of students taking part each week. Additionally, our student leadership programme, The Felixstowe Way, gives students the opportunity to develop characteristics that will benefit them throughout their whole lives.
Once again, thank you for the trust that you as parents place in us as a school. We look forward to working in partnership with you over the coming years.
