Exam Centre

Dear Parents and Carers,

Certificate collection 2023

I am pleased to inform you that your exam certificates from Summer 2023 will be available to collect from the school main reception from Tuesday 14th November 2023. Please be aware main reception opening hours are 8:00am – 4:00pm.

If you are collecting your certificates in person, you will be asked to sign and provide proof of id.

If you are unable to collect them in person you can nominate a third-party person to collect on your behalf.  You can email in advance of collection to examofficer@fxs.org.uk   giving their name and relationship to you, they must show proof of ID and sign to confirm collection

Alernatively  you can provide the third-party collector with a written letter giving your consent. The person collecting the certificates on your behalf must bring the letter and proof of their ID.

Please be reminded that your certificates are legal documents and therefore the school can only retain them for 1-year after the stated collection date. Replacement certificates are only available directly from the exam boards and are charged at approx. £45 per certificate.

All certificates must be checked by the person collecting them and signed for upon collection to ensure their accuracy. The school will not be held liable for any inaccuracies once the certificates have been signed for.

External Exam Information and JCQ Contingency Dates for Summer 2024

The Exam Boards have now published their external examination timetables for summer 2024.  The main exam period runs from Thursday 9th May to Tuesday 25th June 2024. Please be aware that some vocational examinations e.g. BTEC, Cambridge Technicals etc. may take place earlier in May outside the main exam period.

Contingency dates

The afternoons of Thursday 6th June and Thursday 13th June 2024 and all day Wednesday 26 June 2024 have been designated as ‘contingency dates’ for examinations. The contingency day would be used in the event of national or local disruption to examinations in the United Kingdom and is part of the awarding bodies’ standard contingency planning for examinations.  Since more than one timetable date could be affected, all students must remain available up to and including all three dates even if they do not have an exam timetabled.

Students have recently been emailed JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) exam candidate information.  It is important students read and understand these
