Pupil Premium and Catch Up Funding

What is Pupil Premium?

Pupil Premium is additional funding provided to schools by national government.

It has been awarded to schools to help them to ‘narrow the gap’ in performance that exists nationally between vulnerable students and their peers.

The level of funding allocated to schools is based upon the number of students who:

  • are eligible for free school meals or have been eligible in the previous six years
  • have been looked after, or are covered by a guardianship or residency order
  • have been adopted from care
  • have a parent serving in the armed forces

You can view our Pupil Premium Strategy by clicking on the link in the attachments section on this page. This Strategy explains how much funding our school receives and how it is targeted to provide the best outcomes for our disadvantaged students.

All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received and how this is being used.
